My first Highlands were two unregistered bred heifers acquired in August of 2000. Since then, my fold has expanded to a total of 9 Highlands that include cows, heifers, steers, and a bull.
I also added two registered heifers and a registered bull, and am expecting three calves on the ground in the spring.
Land space dictates how many Highlands I can keep, so I plan on keeping my numbers low. At most any time, I have cows/calves for sale, along with beef every fall starting in ’04. Feel free to inquire about beef or cattle for sale.
